Scope

This is the single privacy policy governing the Refractive platform (refractive.tech), the Social Cycle relationships app that runs on it, and the Social Cycle Reminders SMS program. All three are operated by Ordinary Company, LLC. There is no other privacy policy for these services.

SMS messaging: your mobile information is never shared

We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

This applies without exception. Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent are never disclosed to any third party for marketing or promotional purposes, and are never sold, rented, or traded.

Program: Social Cycle Reminders. Message frequency varies — typically a few messages per week. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help.

Who operates these services

Refractive and Social Cycle are operated by Ordinary Company, LLC. Social Cycle is a private personal relationship-management application; the only recipient of its text messages is the account holder.

What we collect

  • Mobile phone number of the account owner, collected in the application's Settings page, used solely to deliver the reminder text messages he signed up for.
  • SMS consent records — the fact and time of his opt-in, and any STOP/HELP requests.
  • Contact records the owner enters himself: names, phone numbers, email addresses, birthdays, interests, and notes about his own personal and professional relationships.
  • Calendar availability, if the owner connects a Google account — free/busy times and events the application creates.
  • Message logs — reminder messages sent to the owner and his replies, so the assistant can hold a conversation across messages.

How we use it

Data is used solely to generate reminders and organize the owner's own relationships. The mobile number is used only to send him the messages he opted in to receive. We do not use any of it for advertising, do not build profiles for anyone else, and do not use it to train models.

What we never do

  • We never send marketing or promotional messages.
  • We never text the owner's contacts. Messages he composes for them are returned to him as drafts to send from his own device. This is enforced in code, not just by policy.

Service providers

We use Twilio to deliver text messages, Supabase to store data, and Vercel to host the application. Each processes data only as needed to provide its service to us, and none is permitted to use it for their own marketing. Optional integrations (Google Calendar, Anthropic for message drafting) run only if the owner connects them.

Your choices

Reply STOP to any message to end all texts immediately, or HELP for support. The number can also be cleared at any time in Settings. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.

Retention and deletion

Records are kept until the owner deletes them. To request deletion of all data, email chazvandemotter@gmail.com.
